This was the 'Rock' version of My Bonnie (version with German intro) as annotated on the label. On Dec. 7th a new pressing was released with the same catalog number but labeled the 'Twist' version on the label and picture sleeve. The only difference being the slow intro was spoken in English instead of German. The word Beatles was judged to sound too similar to the German Pidels (pronounced peedles), the plural of a slang term for penis, hence the single was credited to Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers. It was January 5, 1962 when the first UK issuance of the single was released and this release featured the English intro. First copy has original picture sleeve and second copy a generic sleeve. |
