Remarks
The first recording for the Sgt. Pepper LP. Recording actually started on Dec.6, 1966 and more mixing and overdubs on Dec. 20-21, 1966 completed the song. The master was take 4. The Beatles wrote this years before in the days of playing in the Cavern Club. The tape was sped up when mixed and this version has slowed it back down slightly to the original speed (C major). This is known as mix RM6. It's only a few seconds longer than the master. Also appears on the Purple Chick bootleg CD-R set Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Deluxe Edition Volume Two - Sessions at track 11 on disc 1. Estimated release date known to be in 1999 and assumed to be after the Yellow Submarine Songtrack CD release.
