It was first recorded on Jan 22, 1969 but none of the takes were numbered. Issued as the B side to the Get Back 45. Billy Preston plays keyboards. The Get Back/Don't Let Me Down 45 was released in mono in the UK. The original recording before overdubs and mixing is indexed as DDSI 28.45. This is a remix by Giles Martin/Sam Okell of the original single version. It includes some dialogue at the intro not heard on the original single mix. Some vocal overdubs with John and Paul occurred around February 1969. Some dialogue at the intro was edited out for inclusion on The Beatles 1967-1970 (2023 remix). © Mark Lawson (since 2004).
